Data for research

Data for research

As part of our mission to foster new modalities of data-driven research projects, Editorial Mar Caribe’s Data for Research (DAIN) program is dedicated to providing a repository of open research data to facilitate the identification, verification, and reuse of research results from published works (academic articles, research books, reports, manuals, decrees, regulations, theses, and brochures) available online, and to make them persistent over time. This effort aims to facilitate both textual analysis and research in the digital humanities, a field that has grown significantly in recent years thanks to technological advancements.

Through this program and NBN Resolver (National Bibliographic Number), we offer persistent cataloging and identification of data (runs, output, dashboards, etc.) that do not have an identifier assigned by other publishers or national libraries, such as an ISBN. These identifiers can be used to identify multimedia materials archived in national libraries, such as doctoral theses. In a context where the influence of data is undeniable, DAIN is established as an essential tool for academics, researchers, and students interested in exploring the vast sea of information available.

The ability to access these data not only enhances the research process but also opens new avenues for richer critical understanding and interpretation through various analytical methodologies. Currently, DAIN represents a flagship project within Editorial Mar Caribe and efficiently handles requests for research data. Our team works diligently to ensure that each researcher has access to the necessary resources that not only enhance their intellectual work but also contribute to the collective knowledge within their specific areas.

In this context, technology plays a crucial role; it facilitates the collection, storage, and exhaustive analysis of large volumes of data, which significantly increases both the accuracy and relevance of the results obtained. We are continually seeking innovations to improve the publishing services of the publisher and other sister publishers, ensuring that researchers always have up-to-date tools relevant to their work. In this way, our impact transcends the present, establishing solid foundations for a future where research in digital humanities is more accessible, dynamic, and intensely enriching. Data para Investigación (DAIN) goes beyond being simply a program; it constitutes an invitation to authors and non-authors of Editorial Mar Caribe to revolutionize how we understand, process, and use data within the academic field.
