Open Access Policy

Editorial Mar Caribe (EMC) is a private, interdisciplinary, and holistic scientific entity that publishes and manages works with continuous publication frequency. Its main objective is to disseminate original and unpublished books that are the product of research in all areas of knowledge, with an emphasis on Latin American philosophical thought. To achieve this goal, each title is published in open access, which means that all content is available for free, for download and online reading. There is no charge for shipping or processing of books (BPC).Chapter Processing Charges (CPC)to authors who, by submitting to the publisher, agree to publish and distribute publicly in electronic format for academic, cultural and non-commercial purposes*.

The publisher adheres to the  CC BY-NC 4.0-Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license , which permits non-commercial use of the book, provided, and only if, the creator is credited. Readers, authors, and the general public may read, download, copy, distribute, print, broadcast, and link to the full text of the book for any other purpose, within the limits of the license. Books hosted in the publisher’s own repository are distributed in scientific databases through metadata and persistent multipurpose identifiers recognized by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) and embedded in indexing systems with basic quality standards. Furthermore, EMC is committed to the digital preservation and deposit of content in institutional repositories, to expand the sharing of knowledge within the Latin American scientific community. The books are published under an open access model, free of embargoes or membership fees for both readers and authors, to contribute to bridging the digital divide among Ibero-American countries, based on the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities.

Institutional, financial, and organizational support comes from non-governmental organizations, through voluntary donations or operating exchanges with publishing funds, libraries, business incubators, associations, and research centers affiliated with public and private universities. * Editorial Mar Caribe «DOES NOT» have book processing fees (BPC) or chapter processing charges (CPC) for your book or chapter to be published in open access under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0 license .
