All books published by Editorial Mar Caribe (EMC) are hosted in the entity’s institutional repository, sponsored by depositories supported by OSF PREPRINTS and Knowledge Commons . The publication of texts in the open repository segment or preprints, as they are known in the field of open science, has been a reality since July 2022. Scholars are invited to deposit their research-based essays through our Caribe Pre-Print X platform , as this favors the preservation of the work before and after peer review. EMC adheres to the I4OC Open Citation Initiative , a collaboration between publishers, academics, researchers, and universities to promote the unrestricted availability of information. Editorial Mar Caribe advocates unrestricted access to the abstracts of I4OA academic publications , especially those related to books derived from research. These summaries are stored in reliable repositories that allow open access from any electronic device. In addition, we provide metadata in JSON and XML formats obtained through Crossref and DataCite, thus ensuring its availability to the scientific community.
All books have a DOI bibliographic identifier in collaboration with the Center for Open Science (COS ), Humanities Commons , Crossref , and ARK that does not return 404 «Page Not Found» errors, guaranteeing long-term access to the scientific record of the works. EMC has a long-term digital preservation plan with ARAMEO.NET for published files, in case the entity stops publishing, the link to objects associated with the persistent identifiers cannot be located, or the content management systems (CMS) are not available online. However, if readers wish to download the books from the digital cloud, they can access the Digital Repository .
ARAMEO.NET offers libraries indexing, databases, and open and sustainable access to each book, which is continuously validated in caches. If the link to the content is found to be corrupted, undetectable, or has changed location, caches or repositories are used to restore it.
